The Haitang Island Leisure and Recreation Park is located in the picturesque Mingde Reservoir watershed, at an elevation of approximately 300 meters above sea level. It is the only water's edge camping retreat in Taiwan. The lakeshore is adorned with stunning natural scenery, transporting you across borders into a foreign paradise. As the sun sets, the vibrant hues of twilight bathe the earth in warm colors, while the night brings tranquility, with the distant sound of birdsong calming the soul. From here, you can admire the enchanting views of Tongjing Lake, where the starry sky twinkles like silver pearls, especially during firefly season when the night sky seems to be adorned with countless stars.

The campsite offers a variety of facilities, providing three types of tent options: grass, gravel, and camping cabins. You can also easily choose a small package area for a hassle-free camping experience without setting up a tent. The communal bathroom facilities are well-equipped, along with practical amenities like refrigerators and water dispensers, as well as interactive spaces such as a happy farm for family activities. Notably, pets are welcome, but they must adhere to cleanliness and stall regulations and are not allowed indoors or in tents.

Within the park, you can participate in activities such as firefly watching and fishing, and even experience the process of making Hakka Lei Cha (ground tea), with fresh ingredients available for order to enhance your camping meals.
